Hey Dads,

Since launching in 2019, we’ve had countless families tell us how much the Burleigh Wagon has helped them to enjoy life outdoors again, but if you’re not convinced, we’d love to shed light on some of the most common concerns that Dads have.

Have a read through below, and get in touch with us if you’ve got any more
questions!

1. Is the Burleigh Wagon worth the price?

When we dreamed up the idea of the Burleigh Wagon, we wanted to create something that was durable, long-lasting, multi-function and (most importantly), useful.

We wanted to make something that was more than just a double stroller – so we added an esky (ice chest), a bench seat, ability to transform into a change / play / snack table, and a secure space for kids to sit, sleep and play while out and about.

Unlike canvas wagons, it was also important to us that the Burleigh Wagon was certified for safety. For a wagon to be legally allowed to transport  children in an upright position, it has to meet the mandatory consumer product safety standards for a stroller (Consumer Protection Notice No. 8). These are the mandatory standards based on the Australian/New Zealand Standards 2088: Pram and Stroller - Safety Requirements.

2. Won’t kids grow out of it quickly?

The Burleigh Wagon will actually last a super long time!

While we recommend that the wagon is used for kids who are at least 6 months old, there is no maximum age limit. The wagon is able to hold up to and above 150 kilograms (350 pounds), meaning that it can safely hold two, three or four kids, or even an adult. Mum or Dad getting tired after a long day? You can ride in the wagon too!

While we find the wagon most useful for those with toddlers, the wagon comes included with two sets of three-point safety belts to help keep younger children securely strapped.

Our children are both over the age of 7 now, and they still enjoy riding in it when we’re out and about. It saves them from getting tired legs on longer days out at the park or exploring somewhere, and makes the whole day less stressful for us. I’ve had a recent foot injury, so I even enjoy riding in it from time to time when I need a break from walking!

3. Does the Wagon do anything other than carry kids?

One of the most important things for us when designing the Burleigh Wagon was its versatility.

We remember finding it so hard to leave the house – we had to bring the double pram (stroller), the esky (ice chest), camping chairs, bags of food and all of the gear for our girls – so we wanted to create a solution that would solve that. In our wagon, we included two underseat storage spaces as well as a boot (trunk), so that you’d never have to carry all of your gear again.

Apart from this, we also ensured the Burleigh Wagon was versatile – you can remove the side panel and transform it into a full bench seat, put ice bricks in the storage space and turn it into an esky (ice chest), put a cushion seat on top and turn it into a daybed for your kids, and so much more! We wanted to make it easier for families to get out of the house, spend time outdoors and enjoy spending time with their kids again, and we think it’s worth every cent.

Plenty of Burleigh Wagon families have also shared their most creative ways to use the wagon – you can read how a Burleigh Wagon mum used her wagon HERE in a recent blog, or check out some of their creative uses below:

  • Fill the underseat storage with ice or ice bricks and use it as an esky (ice chest).
  • Carry fishing rods, surf boards, boogie boards, camping chairs and bikes in the side storage racks.
  • Pop in the Esky Bungs (ice chest plugs) and fill the storage spaces with water for a clean water play space.
  • Attach the Bluetooth Speaker and plug in the USB fan to create a cool, relaxed nap space for your toddler.
  • Plug your phone into the Bluetooth speaker for extra phone charge.

One of our fabulous Wagon owners also shared her favourite ways to use the Burleigh Wagon when camping – you can read the full blog from her and her partner HERE.

We hope this letter has helped to answer some of the questions you may have, and that you value your new Wagon as much as we do.

We truly believe that the Burleigh Wagon has the opportunity to change people’s lives, and if you have any more questions, we’d love to help and answer them.
